Kala Kalyani, who appeared in a small role as a friend of Nayanthara’s in Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, has been elevated to the lead in the horror film Engeyum Naan Iruppaen (ENI). Directed by Benny Thomas, the film has Prajin and Suresh as the lead heroes.
Unlike usual Tamil films, where the female ghosts (played by top heroines) haunt and take revenge on those who are responsible for their deaths, in ENI, a male gets killed due to betrayal in love and how his spirit avenges the culprits with the help of his friend forms the story.
“This is a hardcore horror film about the love story of a ghost. The scariness associated with the film will be intense. But at the same time, commercial aspects are taken care of, without making compromises,” the director claims.
