A few years ago, director Thamira, the former associate of late legendary filmmaker K.Balachander, created a buzz by bringing his mentor and Bharathiraja together in his film titled Rettai Suzhi. Now, he is back after a gap with a new movie, intriguingly titled Aan Devadhai. The upcoming project has Samuthirakani, who is in the limelight because of his recent hit Appa, in the titular role.
Ramya Pandian, who got accolades for her realistic act in the political satire Joker, has been roped in to play Kani’s love interest.
Talking about the film Thamira says, “In the era of globalisation, and the rise of multinational corporations — everything from the things we wear, to the mobile networks we use is decided by them. How the present situation affects the harmony of a family and the predicaments that are created by globalisation forms the crux of the tale.”
“The film drives home the point that this trend makes the poor poorer,” he adds.
The movie boasts of talented technicians like Ghibran for music, Vijay Milton for camera, Kasi Viswanathan for editing and Jack for art direction among others.
