It appears that Nayanthara is the front-runner under consideration for the lead in Rajini’s next film, a remake of Mollywood blockbuster Bhaskar the Rascal. Apparently, ace Siddique who directed the original which featured Nayan and Mammootty, would be wielding the megaphone in Tamil as well. He has already gone on record saying Rajini would reprise Mammookka’s role in the K’town version.
Nayanthara got critical acclaim for handling the mature character of a single parent, besides garnering appreciation for her simple yet elegant looks in Bhaskar... If she acts in the Tamil version too, it would be the fourth time Superstar and Nayan have come together for a movie after Chandramukhi, Sivaji and Kuselan. The project, in all probability, will take off after Rajini completes his sci-fi thriller 2.O, a sequel to Enthiran with Shankar.
A few contrary reports are also making the rounds that Nayanthara is part of the Tamil remake of the critically acclaimed Bollywood hit Queen. However, DC has ascertained that it is not so. The remake is bankrolled by actor-producer Thiyagarajan. Despite our repeated attempts to reach Thiagarajan to confirm this news, we couldn’t get through.
