Varalaxmi is teaming up for the first time with Vemal, who is back in action post his Mannar Vahaiyara. This will be in a movie titled Kanni Rasi. The film is a romantic drama and is directed by Muthukumaran. The former assistant of SD Saba and Vidhyadharan says that Kanni Rasi is a fun-filled entertainer and there are no negative characters in the movie.
“The film is set against the backdrop of Thenkasi. The title was very apt for my script and hence we took proper permission from the original makers. And Pandiarajan who directed the original plays the dad to Vemal here,” the director tells us.
Talking about what the film is all about, he said, “The hero belongs to a big joint family of love marriages where all the members will have the zodiac sign of ‘Kanni Rasi’. But, due to certain unpleasant incidents, the hero hates love marriages and opts for an arranged one. What happens when he meets the heroine who is a teacher and also averse to love forms the rest.”
He says Varu sports a new look in a performance-oriented role. Vishal Chandrashekar has attempted a folk number in the film. KR has a host of comedians including Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar.
