Madonna Sebastian, known to be picky about her projects and last seen in Vijay Sethupathi’s Junga, has signed up for the film Kombu Vetcha Singamda where she will be romancing Sasikumar. Directed by SR Prabhakaran, who is teaming up with Sasi after Sundarapandian, the film is based on a controversial true-life incident that took place in a southern town of Tamil Nadu between 1990 and 1994.
Kalaiyarasan, Soori, Yogi Babu, director Mahendran, Harish Peradi, Thulasi, Sripriyanka, Deepa Ramanujam among others are part of supporting cast. Speaking about the movie, Prabhakarn says, “The film went on floors with actor-director Samuthirakani giving the first clap at Karaikudi. We are planning to complete the shoot in one stretch from start to finish in locations like Pollachi, Palani, Thenkasi, Kovilpatti and Virudhunagar.”
While national award winner Ekambaram cranks the camera, Dhibu Ninan Thomas of Maragatha Naanayam and Kanaa fame composes the music. Inder Kumar who bankrolled films like Kuttram 23 and Thadam produces Kombu….in his home banner Redhan - The Cinema People.
