Ramya Krishnan in Shankar's 2.0?

The movie, which also boasts of Samantha in the lead, is said to be the costliest of Vamsi's career.

Who can forget Neelambari, the headstrong villainous character essayed by Ramya Krishnan in Rajinikanth’s Padayappa? In fact, that role was on par with Superstar and until today, no other actress has outshone Ramya in the negative portrayal which she achieved in the blockbuster.

Now, the big buzz is that the gorgeous lady, who made a powerful comeback with Baahubali, has been roped in for Shankar’s magnum opus 2.O, the sequel to his Enthiran featuring Rajinikanth. Though Amy Jackson is on board as Rajini’s love interest and Akshay Kumar plays the antagonist, reports suggest that Ramya has been offered a crucial role. If it is true, then Ramya will have the distinction of being the first actress fortunate enough to share the screen with the two living legends of Indian cinema simultaneously —Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. She has teamed up with the latter for Sabaash Naidu after a long gap, after their previous blockbuster Panchathanthiram.

However, when DC contacted Ramya, who is busy with Baahubali 2, she was all smiles. “I wish I was there in Rajinikanth’s 2.O. Honestly, no one has approached me for the flick, and I don’t know from where the rumours surfaced. All said and done, who would say no to such an irresistible offer coming from Shankar, and that too for a flick with Rajini sir?”.

With the horror genre ruling the roost, we ask her about her horror fantasy movie Rudraksha in which she joins hands with her husband and filmmaker Krishna Vamsi after a gap of 15 years.

The movie, which also boasts of Samantha in the lead, is said to be the costliest of Vamsi’s career. “It is true that we are coming together for a horror movie tentatively titled Rudraksha. Though pre-production work had started, the project got postponed,” she signs off!
