Kabbadi matches being shot for film climax

With this, the shooting of the film is expected to wrap up, says an insider.

Actor and filmmaker Sasikumar will be seen as a kabbadi coach in Susienthiran’s next titled Kennedy Club, set against the backdrop of women’s kabbadi. Touted to be Sasikumar’s biggest budget film made at a whopping Rs 15 crore, the film has veteran Bharathiraja sharing screen space with him in the lead.

The climax portions involving 16 Kabbadi teams and 300 women players from all over India taking part in it were filmed at an exclusive set up at Villupuram Kabbadi Stadium. Ten days of shooting with players from Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Pune, Kerala, Andhra and Karnataka are being shot with hundreds of spectators watching the matches.

“As per the script, these final portion matches take place in North India and hence we have given a makeover to Villupuram Stadium at a cost of Rs 2 crore to give that authentic touch,” reveals the film’s producer Thai Saravanan. With this, the shooting of the film is expected to wrap up, says an insider.
