Tamannaah, who has had a forgettable Bollywood outing till date, has now signed a Rohit Shetty film opposite Ranveer Singh. Surprisingly, her team is not willing to comment about it. Says a source who is close to the actor, “There have been a few discussions on the same and a few meetings. But these discussions have not culminated into an agreement — she hasn’t signed anything yet. Unless the contract is in her hand, she cannot confirm anything. Hopefully we will get a clear picture in probably 15-20 days — and also as per rules of the industry we always wait for the producer to announce it first. Any thing can happen in this world of glitz and glamour.”
The actress perhaps is keeping a low profile about the Rohit Shetty film because after a couple of disastrous Bollywood films, she had said that she would henceforth think twice before signing Bollywood films. In fact Tamannaah was in Mumbai for a day on Sunday. Says a source, “She was here for a single day on April 10 and flew back to Chennai as she is busy shooting for Abhinetri, directed by A.L. Vijay. She plays the central character along with Prabhudeva and Sonu Sood.”
“She is on an exhausting schedule as shooting for the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions are going on simultaneously. The shoot will continue throughout April. If and when she gets a day off, she flies down to be with her family, even for a few hours.” But when contacted, director Rohit Shetty confirms her casting! “Yes, they are on board. Ranveer’s energy, exuberance and huge popularity makes this project more interesting, and Tamannaah is a massive star with the south Indian audience. Wait and watch, it will be worth it.”
