Sundar C rubbished rumours of his magnum opus Sangamithra being shelved. He says the project is very much on while speaking at the promo meet of his sequel Kalakalppu 2. "It was the time I returned to direction after a gap of five years when Kalakalappu was made. It turned out to be a big hit. Now for its sequel, my responsibilities are high as people's expectations also would be big. And having brought ten top comedians including Satish, Robo Shankar, Manobala, Yogi Babu, Singam Puli, VTV Ganesh etc, it was not an easy task to assemble them especially there was a huge combination scene where all were required," he disclosed.

The comedy specialist said he stopped writing scripts keeping the hero in mind as long back as seven years ago. "I finish my script and look out for the hero who fits it." Talking about his lead protagonist Jiiva, he said, "I am working with Jiiva for the first time. I was slightly apprehensive of his style of working. But, much to my surprise, Jiiva used to be on the sets with makeup at 6.45 am for a 7 am schedule. He gave us full support, likewise with other heroes Shiva and Jai. I have worked with Shiva earlier. People say a lot of things about Jai, but honestly, I don't have any problems", he quips.

When asked as to who he would support among Rajini and Kamal on their entry into politics, pat he replied, 'Rajini sir'.

On Sangamithra he disclosed, "It's a film with mammoth scale. A film of that grandness needs perfect planning and we are doing the pre-preparation work for the last one and a half years. Unlike other films where work on graphics will be done only after shooting, here in Sangamithra, we have started it before shooting."
