After Mapla Singam, actor Vimal’s market hit a new low and he wanted to redeem it by signing new films. Recently, the first look of his upcoming film Mannar Vagera released and received a positive response.
Even though he has limited screen presence in the movie, he is concerned about the outcome of the project. Mannar Vagera has an ensemble cast which includes Anandhi, Prabhu, Saranya, Ponvannan, Robo Shankar, Singam Puli and many other actors.
Now, he has signed a new movie with debutant director Dharan. A source close to the actor says, “70 per cent of Mannar Vagera is completed. But the movie has been postponed because of the damage caused by cyclone Vardah to the shooting spot. Since the film may take a while to commence, Vimal thought of doing a small film in between to bridge the gap. The new venture is a thriller and he will start shooting from March. The team is planning to release the film in July.”
Currently, the team is working on finalising the cast and crew for the film. Producer Singaravelan of Marina Pictures will be funding the project.
