Iconic music composer K.V.Mahadevan’s centenary celebrations were organised by fans of yet another ace musician late MS Viwanathan recently where noted singers like P. Susheela, SPB and Vani Jayaram, were honoured. Speaking on the occasion, SPB said, “Mahadevan sir was not only a legend, but also a man who was humanity personified. He will never hurt any of his subordinates. He respected the lyricists a lot. And he is always compassionate with me. He knows my strength and will give songs to croon accordingly. He composes tunes for lyrics. And because of him, I am here. I am indebted to him forever for giving me opportunity to sing in the cult film Sankarabaranam. I know there are a few composers who do not respect others and never value anybody’s work. But KVM was such a gem and a rare musician the industry had.”
