PV Prasad, who gave blockbuster film Kadhalil Vizhundhen and the song Nakka Mukka, is back after a long gap and this time around, he has taken the avatar of an actor with Sakunthalavin Kadhalan. Besides direction, he has also taken the onus of composing music, penning lyrics, writing the story, screenplay and dialogues!
Vishal, who has bought the audio rights under his label V Music, said that he started the new venture out of anger and vengeance.
“At least one song from my every film would be a huge chartbuster, like ‘Fy Fy Fy’ from Pandiyanaadu. Despite that, I was not getting good returns from audio. Even when I asked people, they say that the audio market was bad. So I decided to find by myself what is it all about and started V Music. I realised, besides DVD sales, there are various platforms in which we can exploit the music market. I assured Prasad that we would give appropriate returns for his music.”
Regarding the current scenario, he added, “We have represented our case with respect to entertainment tax to the state government. They have promised to abolish the tax and we are hopeful of positive outcome. Watching a film in the theatres should not be made expensive — it should be an enjoyable experience.”
