When true-blue horror movies like Aval are hogging the limelight, Ranjithkumar who debuted as a hero and wielded megaphone for a film titled Mandodhari has decided to cash in on the trend. Titled Pei Irukka Illaiyaa, the horror movie questions the existence of ghost or spirit. It also delves into the topic of superstitious beliefs as well.

While newcomer Amar plays the hero, actress Jyothisha who has acted in a handful of films is chosen as the female lead. Talking about his movie, Ranjith said, “Four jobless friends invite the wrath of a local don who in turn wants to take revenge on the four. They run for their life and take refuge at an old unused dilapidated bungalow, only to realise that it is haunted by ghosts. How they save their lives from the ghosts and the gangster is narrated as a comedy thriller.” He says that this time he has restricted himself only with direction. Veteran Vijayakumar appears in a crucial role of a swamiji after a gap.
