Arvind Swamy to play Mammootty's role

... in the Tamil remake of hit Malayalam film Bhaskar the Rascal.

After receiving a humongous response for his performance as Siddharth Abhimanyu in Thani Oruvan, there is no turning back for Arvind Swamy. The actor is awaiting the release of Bogan and Dhruva (Telugu remake of Thani Oruvan) and is also busy shooting for Sathuranga Vettai 2. Now, the latest update is that the actor has been signed on to be part of Siddique’s Malayalam film, Bhaskar the Rascal, starring Mammootty and Nayanthara in the lead roles.

Bhaskar the Rascal is a story that revolves around two single parents played by Mammootty and Nayanthara. How the two meet and get married to each other forms the crux of the story. In this comedy-family entertainer, Baby Anikha of Yennai Arindhaal fame essayed the role of Nayanthara’s daughter.

A source close to the team confirms the news, saying, “It is true that Arvind Swamy has been finalised to reprise Mammootty’s role in the Tamil remake. Shooting of this untitled venture will commence in March 2017. Currently, the makers are looking for a suitable female lead to essay Nayanthara’s role in the Tamil version.”

Filmmaker Siddique, who has helmed Tamil films like Friends, Engal Anna and Kaavalan, will be wielding the megaphone for the remake as well. It is said that Arvind Swamy will start shooting for the remake only after wrapping up Sathuranga Vettai 2, in which, he shares screen space with Trisha and Poorna.
