Aiyai, a logical psychological horror

The backstory is about a girl from Aiyai clan, who dies under strange circumstances and returning as the ghost to take her revenge.

Australia based Ilanthirayan Alan Arumugam is debuting as a filmmaker in Tamil with a psychological horror thriller Aiyai.

He says Aiyai is a Tamil word used centuries back to denote homeless clan of people living in a parallel world — something similar to the title Avatar, which is a form of Sanskrit.

Explaining more on the film, which is predominantly shot in English he says, “This is a psychological horror where I have followed a logical screenplay. The story revolves around an Indian student who lives in Australia. The protagonist encounters mysterious experiences. Though he gets some vague visions, he is unable to figure out the reason for going through such experiences. How he is lured by a vengenceful ghost and why he is entrapped, form the rest of the story.”

The backstory is about a girl from Aiyai clan, who dies under strange
circumstances and returning as the ghost to take her revenge. The film is being made in Tamil and Hindi as well.
