Aruvi's script has rawness

Producer SR Prabhu talks about the intense film, which might lead to a debate when released.

Joker fame production house, Dream Warrior Pictures is all geared up with its next — Aruvi, a female-centric eco-social drama. The film had its world premiere at Shanghai Film Fest. Producer SR Prabhu talks about the intense film, which might lead to a debate when released.

“When Arun Prabhu, a former associate of Balu Mahendra sir and KS Ravi Kumar sir, narrated the script of Aruvi to me four years back, the impact was such that I could not come out of it for a week! The big challenge for me was whether I would be able to make a film with the kind of inbuilt rawness it had. I was sceptical initially,” Prabhu tells DC.

On the unusual concept, he says, “The film deals with human emotions and perspectives about life. It speaks about the social anguish of a liberated woman. Aditi Balan, a new girl is essaying the protagonist.”

The Kaashmora producer reveals that the director auditioned more than 500 people for the flick. “Most of the people we chose are real-life professionals from different walks of life. They play themselves on screen.”

Prabhu admits that Aruvi will be an interesting film for him — “It will be one of the best films produced by our banner. It will impart a larger message about what we are missing in life. Vedanth Bhardwaj and Bindu Malini have scored the music.”
