Narain’s previous film Kathukutti, which was based on methane gas extraction, failed to create ripples at the box-office. But the movie was appreciated for its content. Now the actor is pinning hopes on Sai Bharath’s Rum starring Hrishikesh, Sanchita Shetty and Vivek in the lead roles.
Rum landed in Narain’s lap because of his well-wisher Arunachalam. He says, “I’ve never acted in a horror thriller and I play an interesting character with shades of grey. Also, this film has Anirudh Ravichander on board. These two things assured that the film will be a successful venture. When I listened to Sai’s narration, I decided to do the film even though I play the second lead.”
The Anjathey actor says that working with a young team was a chilled-out experience. “The entire team of Rum comprises of technicians who are below 30 years except for Vivek sir and myself. It was fun teaming up with them. I have a couple of scenes with Vivek sir and they are intense. But, he would crack jokes and make it lively,” he adds.
Narain also believes that he should soon figure out which industry he should concentrate on. “So far, in my 14-year-long career, I have been concentrating on both Tamil and Malayalam industries. This has naturally slowed me down. Soon, I should figure out which industry I should be in,” he asserts.
