Who is the running for Pelli Choopulu's Tamil remake?

Initially, the team considered Nivin Pauly to reprise Vijay Deverakonda's role in Tamil. However, the talks fizzled out after a certain point of time.

Ever since it was announced that Gautham Menon has secured the remake rights of Telugu super-hit film Pelli Choopulu, rumours about the cast have been making the rounds. While it was confirmed that Tamannaah has been signed as the heroine, it is still unclear which hero would play the lead in the Tamil version, directed by Senthil Veerasamy.

Initially, the team considered Nivin Pauly to reprise Vijay Deverakonda’s role in Tamil. However, the talks fizzled out after a certain point of time. Through recent developments, it is learnt that Vaibhav Reddy was approached for the same.

Speaking to DC, Vaibhav says, “It is true that I was considered for the movie. I even gave a screen-test for the remake. There haven’t been any talks further.”
After names like Udhayanidhi Stalin were considered, Gautham Menon and his team are now planning to rope in Vishnu Vishal for the film.

Meanwhile;

Vaibhav Reddy, who has done a handful of films in Telugu might play the antagonist in director Sukumar’s Telugu film featuring Ram Charan Teja and Samantha in the lead roles. He says, “A month ago, there were discussions about the script and I am waiting for a confirmation from their side.” Earlier, we had also reported that Aadhi was considered for the film as well.
