Actor Yuvan, who was lauded for his performance in Saattai, had a solo release in 2016. He starred in Ilami — a period drama with jallikattu as the central theme. The actor was appreciated for his performance by the critics. Also, it was announced that he would be doing a film with director Bala, in which playback singer Pragathi Guruprasad will mark her debut as an actress.
But, the Thaara Thappattai director has gone ahead and announced his next film, Nachiyaar featuring Jyothika and GV Prakash The film went on floors yesterday. When DC asked about the current status of his project with Bala, Yuvan says, “My film with Bala is still on. The project is still untitled and I was told by Bala sir that it will commence by the end of this year.”
Yuvan will also be seen in Vilayattu Arambam, a message-oriented film directed by Vijay R Anand. “I play an IT employee in this venture. The story will shed light on the uncertainty of one’s job in the IT field and will emphasise on what people should pursue after their schooling. We shot the movie in Chennai and Bangkok.” Vilayattu Arrambam, whose music has been scored by Srikanth Deva, will release sometime in April.
