It's not acting, but music for Amaresh

Few years back, Amaresh, son of veteran actress/filmmaker Jayachithra, was launched with much fanfare as an actor.

Since he could not get plum roles, the young actor who has worked with all top musicians as a keyboard programmer, has now changed tracks and plunged into music composing. Having bagged the Raghava Lawrence film Motta Siva Ketta Siva, Amaresh says that he is in no mood to go back to acting — “Right from childhood, I have been interested in music and I have also learnt it professionally. When the opportunity of composing music for big producers like RB Choudhary and Vendhar Movies for their film Motta Siva Ketta Siva came my way, I didn’t want to let it go.”

Amaresh says that his concentration is only on music as of now. “I was even offered a role in the movie, but I turned it down. I am not going to appear in front of the camera anymore,” he asserts.

For an yesteryear chartbuster remix number of legendary MGR, Amaresh roped in Shankar Mahadevan and Sadhana Sargam. Though he was tightlipped to reveal the MGR song, all he said was, “I was initially apprehensive as to how the fans of iconic star MGR would react to my remix version. But, the way the two singers have rendered the new version, I’m sure it’ll click well with listeners. It has come out very well.”

Talking about Shankar Mahadevan, he says, “I was particular that Shankarji croons the mass opening song of MSKS as well. I waited for him for a month since he was unwell. My wait did pay off! His energy level has elevated the song several notches.” Amaresh is laving no stones unturned as the album is being mixed at Universal Studio in the United States of America.
