Raghava Lawrence to plunge into politics?

The actor stated that he will enter the scene if need arises.

The recent social activities of actor/ filmmaker/ choreographer Raghava Lawrence seem to be indicating that he has been nurturing political ambitions. This was evident when Lawrence announced that he would be entering politics, at a recent meet in the city, where a host of students were also present.

The Sivalinga star supported the students and joined their recent protests to lift the ban on jallikattu at Marina beach — he even sat through most of the days, extending his help with food and other things during the protest, to thousands who were present.

When it turned violent on the final day, the actor was on the side of the students. He later met Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam and requested him to release the students who were arrested. In the process, he was being called the ‘real’ star by some of the students.

“I have also requested the CM that the government should bear the hospital charges of those who were beaten up by the police,” Lawrence revealed.
Delving more on the subject, he asserted, “Our (students and himself) work would continue for good causes to serve the people of Tamil Nadu. If our protest does not yield any result — be it any issue, we would certainly jump into politics. Our students will represent and stand for elections from all the constituencies. I have left the decisions to them.” The actor added that those who wish to join him should not belong to any political party, movement, or terrorist organisation.

“They should give this in writing. And more so, I insist that they should not take money during elections. Their only goal should be working towards the welfare of the society. And all the students have happily agreed and joined me,” the Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva actor stated.
