Sophie Turner slams columnist who mocked Emma Watson's UN speech

Mumbai: Emma Watson recently made a speech at the United Nations on the topic on sexual assault on campuses in New York City.

A columnist from the newspaper The Sun, however, mocked the speech in a column, making fun of her celebrity status and calling people 'stupid' to give opportunity to such actresses to give such speeches and wondering why people should take her views seriously.

‘Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner, however, stood up for Watson against the criticism she faced. A Twitter user had posted a picture from the column and conveyed her anger towards the columnist for the post and Turner replied to the post. She appreciated Watson’s class, intelligence and eloquence and the slammed the columnist in the strongest way possible.
