That Ariel Winter’s relationship with her mother is sour is a fact known to all. They haven’t seen each other for five years, and ever since her emancipation from her mother, it is her sister who became her legal guardian. Although it’s been quite a while, the memories still seem to be stinging the Modern Family actress.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ariel opened up about how she was sexualised at the age of seven by her mother. She says that she was dressed in “the smallest miniskirts, sailor suits, low-cut things, the shortest dresses you’ve ever seen. People thought I was 24 when I was 12. If there was going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand percent said yes.”
The 19-year-old actress also revealed that her mother wouldn’t let her be friends with other girls, since according to her, they were “competition”. Sharon Sacks, Ariel’s on-set teacher, reveals that Ariel’s mom “kept her out late at night at these ridiculous parties. She was 12 and 13 years old and had to be on set at 6.30, 7.”
