A couple of months ago, the internet was abuzz with the feeling of enmity between fans of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Vin Diesel, as the former released a lengthy post on Instagram calling his Fate of the Furious co-star a ‘candy a**’ and ‘chicken s**t’. JustJared.com reports that in an attempt to clear out the rumours, Vin recently spoke out, saying that the issue was blown out of proportion.
He told USA Today, “I don’t think the world really realises how close we are, in a weird way. I think some things may be blown out of proportion. I don’t think that was his intention. I know he appreciates how much I work for this franchise. In my house, he’s Uncle Dwayne.” He did, however, admit that there are creative differences at times between the ‘two alphas’ on the set, but that he ‘protects’ everyone.
“I protect everybody including Dwayne. I protected Dwayne more than he’ll ever know. And it doesn’t matter. He doesn’t have to know. But he appreciates it. He knows it. Dwayne has only got one Vin in his life. Dwayne Johnson only has one big brother in this film world and that’s me,” he said.
