Ranbir-Basu comment on Govinda's cameo: He's not in Jagga Jasoos and it's our loss

Earlier this month, a photo of Govinda enacting a scene with Ranbir and Katrina went viral on the internet.

Mumbai: Other than the news of Ranbir Kapoor mansplaining Katrina Kaif during ‘Jagga Jasoos’ promotions, there was another sensational photograph that had created a major stir on social media.

At the trailer launch of ‘Jagga Jasoos’ on Thursday, when director Anurag Basu was asked about the leaked picture, he said, “I had shot with him for a couple of days in the initial days. After that, there were changes in the story and few other things changed. So, for now, all the reports that have come in the media about the fact that Govinda is in the movie, I want to tell you that he is not there in Jagga Jasoos, but I have shot with him. His part is not in the film. It was very kind of him that he had said yes as I had requested him for this character. It was a guest appearance anyways, it was not a main character.”

“The photo which came out was towards the start of the movie. And amongst the changes that have occurred after was this,” added Anurag.

Following this, Ranbir concluded by saying, "But it's our loss," to which Anurag agreed.

“But it’s our loss,” Ranbir was quick to add and the director agreed.

Earlier, Govinda, in an interview, had blatantly denied working in ‘Jagga Jasoos’, saying, “Well I am not doing JAGGA JASOOS because I am doing ABHINAY CHAKRA, my home production film, where in I play a lead hero. So I cannot do a father's role. If I was doing those roles then it was fine, but if I am not doing then why are you offering me that kind of a film?”

In another interview, the actor had said, “I've finished my work but I won't be a part of the promotions. I'm upset with the makers for not clarifying things on my behalf. I can understand them not wanting to get dragged into a silly controversy but not reacting was not a solution. Nobody is allowed to make money by defaming me. I may forgive but I'll never forget.”

Sounds like Govinda is unhappy about the fact that his part has been chopped off.

‘Jagga Jasoos’ is slated to release on July 14.
