Tanmay Bhat takes his mediocre jokes too far, insults legends like Sachin, Lata

Mumbai: AIB comedian Tanmay Bhatt, who recently made headlines for his inspiring video on feminism, is again in news, only this time it’s for all the wrong reasons. In his new video, we see Tanmay making fun of Sachin Tendulkar and Lata Mangeshkar with his mediocre jokes.

Tanmay shared the video with fans on his official Facebook page by captioning it as, “Sachin vs Lata Civil War (I make such nonsense on my Snapchat - follow me there - ID: Thetanmay) (Also I obvously love Lata and Sachin, just having some fun).”

We see Tanmay roasting Lata and Sachin by cracking insulting jokes. Using a Snapchat face swap filter, we first see Tanmay imitating Sachin and hurling swears at Virat Kohli and then we see Tanmay taking a dig at Lata.

Some of the punchlines used by the comedians were:

• “Phuck Virat. No, I’m very respectful for Virat. He is very good with bat and ladies.”
• “Lata tai namaskar. Very respectfully I’d like to add that you are 5000 years old.”
• “Your face looks like someone has kept you in water for eight days.”
• “Just look at you. Jon Snow also died, so you (Lata) should also die.”

The comedian’s humour didn’t go down well with people as soon enough he shared the video on Internet, his post was bombarded with negative feedbacks. Reacting to Tanmay taking a shot at legends like Sachin and Lata in the new video, fans along side Bollywood celebrities took to Twitter to slam his act.

“Am absolutely shocked. Disrespect is not cool and neither is it funny,” Riteish tweeted.

Apart from Riteish, many others as well expressed their displeasure on the new video.

However, Tanmay saw the backlash coming before he shared the video.
