Deepika Padukone approached Shoojit Sircar to star in his film with Varun Dhawan?

Mumbai: Recently, the no-more-chocolate-boy of tinsel town, Varun Dhawan announced his next venture ‘October’ with National award-winning director Shoojit Sircar, who was applauded for his directorial ‘Piku.’

The actor took to his Instagram account to announce this news and captioned it as, “I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit da’s work and have always wanted to work with him. The film is titled October. Soojit da Ronnie and Juhi have always made good cinema I’m very lucky to get a chance to work with them.”

However, according to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the gorgeous diva Deepika Padukone has approached Shoojit Sircar for the film.

The report claims that the film is a romantic comedy and wont have anything substantial for the leading actress. Despite which Deepika is keen on being a part of this film because Sircar has given the dimpled-beauty ‘Piku’- one of her finest films till date.

Speaking about the film ‘October,’ Shoojit had earlier said, “It’s again an out-of-the-box kind of story. We started working on this film’s idea, which came from a small newspaper clipping, right before Piku (2015).” He further described it as “a very unusual, unconventional kind of a story” in the “slice-of-life and romance space.”

The film goes on floors this September.
