Ranbir and Katrina to reunite for Prakash Jha's Rajneeti 2?

The 'Jai Gangaajal' director said he is keen to revisit the film as the politics in the country today has become 'interesting'.

Filmmaker Prakash Jha says he is uncertain if Bollywood star Katrina Kaif will be a part of his forthcoming film 'Rajneeti 2'. The director said that even though he would want the 'Fitoor' actress to feature in the film, it would be too soon to comment, as the film is in its initial stage.

"Katrina is part of Rajneeti but I don't know if the new story whether will suit her, whether she will be a part of it or if she wants to do it. Things are uncertain. We definitely want her to be (part of the film). But at the same time, if the character becomes completely different or then...," Jha told PTI.

The political-thriller-drama 'Raajneeti', that released in 2010, starred Katrina in a pivotal role apart from an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah.

The 'Jai Gangaajal' director said he is keen to revisit the film as the politics in the country today has become 'interesting'.

"I am interested in revisiting 'Rajneeti' because suddenly the politics in the country has become very interesting. So I am working on the structure. I don't really know if it will be from where we left the last story or if it'll be a new story," he said.

"Basically, Rajneeti is a big film that I am thinking in terms of working on again. In between, there are a couple of scripts which we've been working on which are not socio-political," he added.

When asked if the movie will be a sequel to 'Rajneeti', Jha said, "I don't know whether it'll be a sequel. It'll be a sequel if I take the story (forward) from where I left it or if I have the same characters, something like that. It may be slightly different. I am not sure about it but it (the film) will be Rajneeti."

The filmmaker is currently ready with his next directorial venture 'Jai Gangaajal' starring Priyanka Chopra. The film releases on March 4.
