Despite the fact that there are accolades pouring in for Shahid Kapoor for Padmavati, the actor who plays the role of Maharana Rawal Ratan Singh in the film is apparently not satisfied. “I think that the role has been underplayed in the trailer,” he says.

Even if one does admit that he has worked hard to get that kind of a physical appearance for his role, the actor feels that the film has a lot more to offer. “You have to wait for the film to discover the role. Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” says Shahid.

The Haider actor then goes on to add that he trusts the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s decision. “Those are not my choices; those are the choices of the filmmaker. I have given the film my 200 per cent,” he says.

Shahid is also against the kind of violent protests that the film is facing at the moment including the desecration of the rangoli of Deepika Padukone as Padmavati. “Right now, the focus has to be to release the film. We have taken care to keep everybody’s points of view while making the film. It is a great cinematic experience and it has been made in a way that will show the people of this country in the nicest light,” says Shahid.
