Deepika Padukone Worked in Jawaan For Free?

Earlier this year, Deepika appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan and is now garnering praise for her cameo in Jawan.

Deepika Padukone, last seen in a cameo role alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the film "Jawan," recently discussed their relationship in an interview with The Week. She described her connection with Shah Rukh Khan as extending beyond the realm of work, referring to them as each other's 'lucky charms.' Deepika emphasized the depth of their relationship, citing a profound sense of trust and respect that enables them to be vulnerable with one another.

Deepika shared her thoughts on her equation with Shah Rukh, stating, “We are each other's lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other... I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on the top."

Earlier this year, Deepika appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan in "Pathaan" and is now garnering praise for her cameo in "Jawan," marking her fifth collaboration with Shah Rukh. Deepika made her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh in "Om Shanti Om" in 2007, and they have also co-starred in successful films like "Happy New Year" and "Chennai Express."

Regarding the box office success of their films together, Deepika expressed, “I’ve never been fascinated by numbers, whether it was maths in school or the numbers of 'Pathaan.' I was just happy that cinemas had come alive again, that people had come alive again. I was really grateful for that."

She further revealed that she didn't charge a fee for her appearance in "Jawan" or any of her special roles in movies. She stated, “I wanted to be a part of '83' because I wanted it to be an ode to women who stand behind their husbands' glory. I watched my mother do it. 'Jawan' was my homage to wives who make sacrifices to support their husbands' careers. Other than that, for any special appearance for Shah Rukh Khan, I am there. Same with Rohit Shetty.”
