Bajrangi Bhaijaan actress, Alka Kaushal, sent behind bars for 2 years

Mumbai: Hindi TV serial ‘Qubool Hai’ actress Alka Kaushal and her mother Vishwa Mohan Badola (theatre actress) have been accused of money laundering, fraud and thievery after two of their cheques, of 25 lakh rupees each, bounced.

The mother-daughter duo is accused of not returning 50 lakhs to an acquaintance and a money laundering and theft case was slammed on them when their cheques bounced at the banks.

Both of them have been sentenced to 2-year imprisonment by a district court in Sangrur, Punjab.

A report in Amar Ujala states, “Advocate Sukhbir Singh said that Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 lakhs from an acquaintance, Avtar Singh. The money was borrowed with the promise of serial-making. When Avtar asked Alka to give back her money, he got 2 cheques of 25 lakhs each. But they got bounced. After that Avtar, filed a case against Alka and her mother in Malerkotla court.”

The actress has played pivotal roles in serials like ‘Swaragini’ and ‘Qubool Hai’ and was seen as the mother of Kareena Kapoor Khan in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and Kangana Ranaut’s in ‘Queen’.
