Tumhari Sulu is purely Vidya's film, I am not insecure: Manav Kaul

Mumbai: Theatre actor Manav Kaul, who bagged a dream role with Tumhari Sulu on the big screen, says he had a clear idea about what he was getting into when he signed up for the movie. He makes it quite clear that it is Vidya’s canvas, and he had no insecurity at all. “I have enough space, but of course, Tumhari Sulu is purely Vidya’s film. She’s the backbone of the film. But I’m glad Suresh (Triveni, director) has written an interesting part for me as well. I have huge respect for Vidya. There was no sense of insecurity being a part of this movie,” says Manav.

The actor has been a part of the film industry for close to two decades, but is often not given his due. He’s also seen in negative roles once in a while, and playing Vidya’s husband seemed like a refreshing change to him. “I was very patient, and waiting for something like this to happen. I was doing roles with grey shades and negative ones because of Kai Po Che and Wazir. I was bored with that and wanted to do something new. So when I got a call for this film, I loved the script and pounced on it.”

Tumhari Sulu is slated to release on November 17.
