Apoorva Lakhia has been busy shooting a biopic on Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parker —Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai. The casting process was relatively smooth and he was able to rope in Shraddha Kapoor for the titular role of Haseena and her brother Siddhant for the role of Dawood. However, the film has already met with a bump in the road — the shooting for the film is being shifted from Dubai (which is Dawood’s alleged hometown) to Bangkok.
Says a source close to the project, “There was a fair amount of risk involved in shooting some of Dawood’s scenes in Dubai. The team decided it was better to not shoot there at all. They shifted the location to Bangkok, which will now be passed off as Dubai in the film.”
Fudging locations is a normal procedure in Bollywood, though. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Prague was passed off as Italy. In the new Devgn release Shivaay, the Bulgarian mountain peaks masquerade as the Himalayas.
