Akshay Kumar dedicates 60 days to Robot 2

That's a lot of time, considering the actor wraps up most of his films within 30-35 days, and does up to four films a year on an average.

The year seems to have started on a truly great note for Akshay Kumar, whose Airlift has done brisk box office business, as well as brought him acclaim for his histrionics. His next film, Neeraj Pandey’s Rustom, is being backed by Reliance and a huge set has been erected for the same in Mumbai, with the shoot expected to kick off soon. And if that wasn’t enough, he has yet another big project —Shankar’s Robot 2, in which Akki plays the villain opposite superstar Rajinikanth.

Robot 2 will mark the first time Akshay has worked with Rajinikanth and he is understandably excited. “I feel like I am on top of the world. It’s all right getting kicked and punched. I have done that all my life. It is great to be punched by a superhero like Rajinikanth!” Akshay had said in a previous interview.

Keeping in mind the magnitude of the project, Akshay has kept aside a huge chunk of his dates for the shoot — about 60 days, from what our sources say.
“Akshay is caught up with Rustom at present, but he will start shooting for Robot 2 around May-June this year. He has allotted around 60 days for this film — which is a lot, given that he ends up working on four films on an average every year,” a source close to the actor told us.

The general norm for Akshay has been that he allocates about 30-35 days to each of his film projects, and does up to four films annually. He also ensures that he gets some time off for a vacation with wife Twinkle Khanna and their kids, during the summer months.
