Mumbai: After impressing the audiences with their super sweet chemistry in ‘Piku’, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan are reuniting on a biopic on ‘Sapna Didi’, a feared mafia queen of ‘80s Mumbai, Rahima Khan.

The film also brings three stalwarts, Deepika, Irrfan and his frequent collaborator Vishal Bhardwaj, who will be producing the film, together. The film is reportedly going on floors by the end of January next year.

Prerna Arora’s KriArj Entertainment is one of the producers on the film besides Vishal Bhardwaj Pictures and T-Series. In an interview to Indian Express, Prerna shared details about the project and her excitement of first collaboration with Deepika Padukone.

“Vishal sir is in China I believe. He is coming back soon and we will be gearing up for the film. We have preps and recee going on. January end we will hit the floors with the film. We don’t have a title yet but it is a fictional thriller. Deepika will start prepping up after Padmavati. There have been interactions between her and Vishal sir and also between him and Irrfan. Both have had readings with him. Right now, Deepika is busy with Padmavati but I am really looking forward to working with her,” Prerna said.

Bhardwaj’s long-time associate Honey Trehan will helm the crima drama.
