- After a successful stint of three years, she parted ways with the channel and producers of Balika Vadhu in 2013 and decided to try her luck in the popular reality show Bigg Boss'.
- Born on August 10, 1992 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, Pratyusha did her early education in local schools before moving to Kolkata for higher studies. The turning point in her life came when she was selected to replace Avika in Balika Vadhu through an SMS poll.
- The past few months had been controversial for Pratyusha as she accused eight men of posing as cops and molesting her. Moreover, her boyfriend and she also faced flak for non-payment of dues after her birthday party at a plush suburban venue.
- Pratyusha's mother Soma Banerjee said that she wanted to marry Rahul, “Rahul is definitely responsible for my daughter's death because she was unhappy and upset in the relationship.â€
- Pratyusha's mother Soma Banerjee said, “I used to live with my daughter in Kandivali. But on January 12 this year, Rahul said he would take her to live with him in Malad. She told me to return to Jamshedpur, where I live with my husband. Two days ago she spoke to her father and said her life was difficult. On Thursday, she spoke to me and said the same thing. She sounded upset.â€
- According to reports, Pratyusha took this drastic step due to mounting financial pressures over the last year. While some friends claim that she suffered a bout of depression after she recently separated from her boyfriend of two years, Rahul Raj Singh, others claim that the two had secretly tied the knot after their parents disapproved of their livein relationship.
- Reason for the extreme step was not yet known, but Pratyusha was reportedly facing problems in her relationship with boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. Her last status message on Whatsapp read, \"Marke bhi muh na tuzse modana\" (even after death won't be turning my face away from you) with a smiley.
- The 24-year-old was found hanging from the ceiling at her flat in Bangur Nagar in suburban Kandivli, a police officer said. However, no suicide note was found from the flat, he said, adding the exact cause of the death, which occurred around afternoon, will be known only after an autopsy is conducted.
