Start-up giving drone training starts in Tadepalli

VIJAYAWADA: Drogo Drones, a start-up company for training drone operators, has started operations at Tadepalli in Guntur district.

Managing director Yashwant Bontu of the start-up said representatives of Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have visited the company's campus spread over 50 acres, examined curriculum and have issued a no-objection letter to train youth in flying drones for agricultural, non-agricultural and industrial operations.

Yashwant said theirs is the only private organisation that has obtained necessary permissions to train pilots for operating drones in the state. They provide a week-long training to drone operators as per the syllabus designed by DGCA. Trainee operators go through classroom lessons and thereafter learn operating drones on the 50-acre campus of Drogo Drones.

The company MD said DGCA has permitted them to train 30 students per batch. As per the DGCA norms, trainees must be at least 18 years’ old and should pass at minimum tenth standard.

Yashwant said they are also planning to set up a drone manufacturing unit in Tadepalli.
