Company to utilise its vast network of cab services and driver partners to promote its food venture.

Mumbai: Global ride-hailing app major Uber has brought its online food ordering platform to India. In the US, Uber has been operating UberFRESH using which Uber customers order foods.

The taxi aggregator has now announced UberEATS for its India customers. UberEATS India head Bhavik Rathod told The Economic Times that advent of UberEATS in India was a big push to company's major global expansion plans. "It showcases our commitment to the market," Rathod said.

The company intends to utilise its vast network of cab services and driver partners to promote its food business among Uber customers. It has also roped in its restaurant partners for the food venture in India.

The company says it has set an average delivery time of 35 minutes and tied up with over 200 restaurants to offer different types of cuisines. "This will enable users to beat long lines or have breakfast comfortably nestled in bed," report said.

UberEATS will be part of existing Uber app on a user's mobile phone which they can use for ordering food. According to ET report, UberEATS finds out a user's locations and searches for them nearest restaurants and also displays menus at these eateries.
