KTM 390 Adventure X debuts at Rs 2.80 lakh

Pune: KTM, the world’s largest and India’s fastest growing premium Austrian brand, on Tuesday introduced a new, low-cost variant of the 390 Adventure bike at an introductory price of Rs 2.80 lakh at Delhi showroom.

This makes the new KTM 390 Adventure X bike significantly cheaper than the current 390 Adventure bike that is priced at Rs 3.38 lakh. The intent is to make the new variant bike accessible to a wider buyer.

Deleting features such as traction control, quickshifter, cornering ABS and the TFT-display with smartphone connectivity has helped to reduce the price.

Rest of the motorcycle is the same, as it still gets the LED lighting, same body and the motor.

KTM offers two colour options - Orange and Dark Galvano for the 390 Adventure X.

The KTM 390 Adventure X competes with the BMW G 310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. While the BMW is costlier, the Himalayan is cheaper, but also slots into a lower power bracket.

Sumeet Narang, President, Pro-Biking at Bajaj Auto, “In FY23, KTM experienced a 60 per cent surge in KTM Adventure customer participation in KTM Pro-XP and over 50 per cent of the participants were new customers, indicating a growing demand for Adventure motorcycles.”

KTM 390 Adventure X is powered by the same 390cc motor with an ability to produce 43.5 bhp power output and a torque of 37Nm. The engine is mated with a six-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch.
