Bajaj Auto begins deliveries of the V12

The V12 was announced officially last month at a V15 press conference and now the bikes have already come to showrooms.

The Bajaj V12 is priced at Rs 56,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and appears similar to the V15 apart from minor cosmetic changes and a different engine. The visible differences are a 5-spoke alloy wheel and a front drum brake. It also has rubber gaiters on front forks and gets a pronounced grab rail. While the rear tyres are slimmer, the front ones are same as compared to the V15. The V12 also has a slightly less kerb weight.

The biggest change on the bike is the new 125cc engine which is derived from the V15's 149cc engine but gets a different head architecture. The V12 is powered by a 125cc single-cylinder, engine mated to a 5-speed transmission, which produces 11PS and 11Nm of torque.

The Bajaj V12 is available in three colours - Wine Red, Midnight Blue and Ebony Black. We might see more colour options in the future. The V15 was well received by the audience thanks to its butch looks, fat rear tyre, removable plastic cowl and beefy exhaust. Its low pricing too attracted a lot of price-sensitive customers. Dealer sources inform us that the V12 is receiving similar interest from customers with a substantial amount of enquiries/bookings coming their way.
