Jeep India to launch Grand Cherokee and Wrangler on 1st September 2016
After a long wait and several delays, Jeep finally announced the launch of two iconic Jeep models. The Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUV will be on the road from 1st September 2016.
Only the long wheelbase & unlimited trim of the Jeep Wrangler will be sold in India which will be powered by 2.8-litre diesel engine good for 197hp. But the second model, the Grand Cherokee SUV will be released for sale in three trims -Limited, Summit and the high-power Grand Cherokee SRT (debut of Jeep's SRT performance brand in India). Specifications of Three trims –
1. Limited and Summit variants - 3.0-litre V6 diesel motor paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox with 240hp.The Summit variant is having ventilated front seats, power-adjustsable steering, an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a 506W amplifier and an optional 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, satellite navigation, individual rear seat displays etc.
2. Apart from diesel unit, the SRT gets a 475hp, 6.4-litre Hemi V8 petrol motor, Brembo high-performance brakes and active damping suspension. electric-adjust front seats with memory, heated front and middle row seats, heated steering, tyre pressure monitoring system, automatic bi-xenon headlamps etc.
The price of both the models in India is expected to be around Rs 85 lakh and Rs 1 crore respectively.
