Oberoi Group gets 40 acres in Bheemili

Vishakapatnam: AP government has decided to allot 40 acres of land to the Oberoi group at Annavaram village in Bheemili mandal of Visakhapatnam on lease-cum-rent basis.

In this regard, Oberoi group chief executive officer Vikram Oberoi, corporate affairs president Raja Raman Shankar and chief financial officer Kallol Kundu visited Annavaram village accompanied by Visakhapatnam district collector Dr. A Mallikarjuna and Bheemili RDO Bhaskar Reddy.

The collector made a PowerPoint presentation to the Oberoi team on the upcoming projects in Visakhapatnam and the importance the city has been gaining in recent times. Top APTDC officials too were present.

Government sources said Oberoi group has agreed to develop a seven-star facility at the place, about 28 km from Visakhapatnam and 25 km from Bhogapuram international airport. In principle, they have agreed to invest ₹350 crore.

Representatives of the group had earlier visited the site in August 2021.

Incidentally, Oberoi group had built its first hotel at Gopalpur in Odisha, about 300 km from Visakhapatnam.
