Amala to star in Dhanush’s production

Amala Paul, who was seen as Dhanush’s pair in Velai Illa Pattathari, will now play a crucial role in a movie being produced by the latter’s Wunderbar Films. Titled Amma Kanakku, the film which went to the cutting floors on Thursday, has Revathi, Samuthirakani and others as part of the cast. Dhanush revealed this through his Twitter account, posting, “Wunderbar films 1st project of 2016 Amma Kanakku shoot begins 4m today. Starring: AmalaPaul, samudrakani, revathi mam (sic).”
A source says that the film is a remake of the Hindi flick Nil Battey Sannata — “The shooting of the movie has commenced in the city. It is being directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari who has directed the original. The Hindi version is yet to hit the screens. The makers are planning for a simultaneous release of both the versions.”
