DDCA scam: CBI asks for report of internal audit of Delhi cricket body

CBI letter asked for a "certified copy" of the internal audit report.

New Delhi: CBI has asked for the report ofthe internal audit of DDCA in connection with its Preliminary Enquiry (PE) relating to allegations surrounding the cricket body.

In a letter sent to the General Secretary of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), Superintendent of Police in Special Crimes-II S S Kishore sought a copy of an "internal audit" for the period between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.

The CBI letter asked for a "certified copy" of the internal audit report along with the relied upon documents from the state cricket association and also impressed upon them that the "matter should be treated as most urgent", official sources said here today.

There was no comment from the CBI spokesperson about the status of the PE that was registered last year.

Former cricketer Kirti Azad, who has claimed that he has ‘evidence’ of corruption in DDCA, claimed earlier that the CBI was looking into the matter.

DDCA vice-president Chetan Chauhan had also said during a press conference that the cricket body has been probed by the CBI and SFIO (Serious Fraud and Investigation Office).
