Will not spare Telugu Desam men involved in ‘call money’ scam: Chandrababu Naidu

As arrests continued, complaints regarding the scam continued to pile up.

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu told his party MLAs that he would not protect party leaders who were allegedly involved in the call money-cum-sexual exploitation racket.

He was speaking at a Telugu Desam Legislature Party meeting in the Assembly committee hall immediately after the House was adjourned on Thursday.

Mr Naidu told that leaders from almost all parties were involved in the racket but a majority of them belong to the YSRC. Howevver, allegations of involvement in the racket have been levelled against some TD legislators, Council members and others.

Mr Naidu said the government would take stringent action on everyone involved in the call money scam. He said he would give a detailed statement on the call money scam in the Assembly on Friday.

He said if the YSRC MLAs stall Assembly proceedings, they would be suspended for two hours from the House to take up the scheduled discussion on Constitution Day to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar. He asked party MLAs to come prepared.

Meanwhile, even as arrests continued, complaints regarding the call money-cum-sexual exploitation racket continued to pile up.

In Vizag, about 25 complaints were registered on the hotline 1090 provided by Visakhapatnam police as well with police commissioner Amit Garg.

In Vijayawada, DCP L.K.V. Kalidas said the police had received 78 complaints including some from outside the city. A 70-year-old victim from Kakulapadu in Krishna district had lodged case against prime accused Srirama Murthi. Y. Venkateswara Rao stated that his wife and son had comitted suicide due to harassment by the racketeers.
