Rs 18 crore seized from TDP MLA

Hyderabad: Income-Tax sleuths reportedly seized Rs 18 crore in raids on the house of Telugu Desam legislator S. Rajender Reddy of Mahbubnagar district, in Hyderabad and other places late on Wednesday.

Mr Rajender Reddy, 50, is the chairman of the Navodaya Educational Trust that runs medical, dental and engineering colleges. He had declared his assets as Rs 29 crore during the 2014 elections in his affidavit filed with the Election Commission. Mr Rajender Reddy, who represents Narayan-pet constituency in Mahbubnagar district, is said to own properties worth crores of rupees in Raichur, Karnataka.

Sources said Mr Rajender Reddy had completed his M. Pharma from a college in Raichur. The native of Mahbubnagar district identifies himself as an educationist and agriculturist.
