Pakistan hackers deface Vizag police site

Police sources said the IP address of the hackers was tracked to Istanbul
Visakhapatnam: The Vizag city traffic police’s website — www.vizagtrafficpolice.com — was hacked by Team Pakistan Cyber Attackers on Sunday (November 29). The matter came to light only on Tuesday.
The hackers posted some anti-Indian content alleging that atrocities were being committed against J&K Muslims. The site was restored by 4 pm on Sunday.
Police sources said the IP address of the hackers was tracked to Istanbul. The hackers are probably radical Islamic organisations who have been targeting government websites in India.
ADCP (Traffic) K. Mahendra Patrudu said the hackers didn’t destroy any information on the site. “We update traffic alerts thrice a week. I don’t know why the traffic police website was hacked as it doesn’t have any strategic information,” the officer said. Cops of the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell has begun investigations.
Police sources said the website was being maintained by Millennium Software Solutions. Updates on the hacking have been sent to all Central agencies as the same group had earlier hacked Andhra Univer-sity’s website.
