Centre intolerant towards Telangana: MP AP Jitender Reddy

He said if Centre continues its step-motherly attitude, a time may come when TS would become ‘intolerant’

Hyderabad: TRS Lok Sabha leader AP Jitender Reddy on Tuesday accused the Central government of “showing intolerance” towards solving issues of Telangana state despite 18 months having passed since its formation.

Participating in the debate on ‘growing intolerance’ in the Lok Sabha, Mr Reddy sarcastically used the word ‘intolerance’ to raise the pending issues concerning the state like bifurcation of the High Court, establishment of separate railway division for Kazipet, AIIMS, distribution of All India Service officers as well as state cadre officers.

The MP questioned the Centre: “Why this intolerance towards a newly-formed state? Why have no funds been allotted to the state despite repeated requests from the state government?”

He said TS is known for tolerance and both Hindus and Muslims celebrate all festival together but if Centre continues its step-motherly attitude, a time may come when TS would become ‘intolerant’ towards the Centre.
