THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A group of youngsters has brought out a mobile application that could help one easily locate vehicle-related public services like autorickshaws, taxis, loading vehicles, rescue vehicles, workshops and puncture setting shops.
VehicleST.com, a venture by a group of students at KSIDC's start-up zone, has so far enrolled about 10,000 vehicles and other services of Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Trissur. In a short span of time 1000 users down loaded it. The service is offered free of cost. Anyone could download it from Google Play app store or from 'vehiclest.com' website.
"Any one downloading our app on their smartphones will be able to locate the public service vehicle of the nearest locality. There is also a bidding option which ensures that users get the best rates," said VehicleST.com chief executive officer Alvin George.
VehicleST.com had earlier enrolled Kudumbasree taxi services in the app. They are also seeking service of Akshaya services for enrolling public service owners.
"We are also expanding our operations to other districts as well as states like Bangalore and Hyderabad. More categories for public services like vegetable vans and cooking gas agency vehicles would also be enrolled," Mr. George said.
