Two women allegedly committed suicide in Kamakshiplaya on Wednesday

BENGALURU: In separate incidents, two women allegedly committed suicide in Kamakshiplaya on Wednesday. In the first incident, Swarna, 29, a resident of Muthurataswamy extension consumed pesticide.

The incident came to light when her daughter returned from school and found her lying motionless. She alerted the neighbours who then rushed her to a hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead. Swarna was a garment factory employee and had quit the job one month ago. Her husband Shivram, a cab driver, had gone out at the time of the incident. Police are yet to ascertain the reason.

In another incident, 23-year-old Kaveri, a private firm employee was found hanging at her residence on Ambabhavani road on Wednesday. Kaveri was married to Manjunath who works in a private firm. Police said that after returning home from work, Kaveri hanged herself from the ceiling.

The incident came to light after Manjunath returned home from work and found the door was locked from inside and there was no response despite repeated knocks. He then sought the help of neighbours to break open the front door. She was found hanging. The Kamakshipalya police have registered both the cases and are investigating.
